According to us, The Bunker is not just a hostel or a place to spend a night. For us, it is a concept. It is an idea that was ignited back in 2016 and we have spent the last few years constantly working towards realizing that ideal. We dreamt of setting up a haven, a home, for the map-less wanderers, the solace seekers, the wacky group, the lone wolf, the sunset lovers, the bird watchers and the ones who yearn to fearlessly dig into the unknown experiences this life has in store for them. Our dream was realized in the April of 2017, when we set up The Bunker Dharamkot, a small, quaint hostel situated up on a mountain far from anything remotely close to civilization and cities. Dharamkot became our home, and of hundreds of misfits who came and left parts of their souls in that small village. As time progressed, like a couple of rolling stones, we were led to Bir, the mecca of paragliding in India, and we opened our second hostel in this picturesque village in the December of 2018.

In our journey so far, we realized that traveling is a way of life, a means to connect with people from different walks of life, and the greatest way to discover yourself. And it is our constant endeavor to create memorable experiences and cultivate friendships for our guests, that go well beyond the walls of our hostels; and last well beyond the duration of your vacation. The core inspiration of our hostels comes from a very famous quote from the epic book/movie “Into The Wild” – Happiness is only real, when shared. Both our hostels are designed to optimize this sharing and happiness as much as possible. Cozy common areas, beautiful open spaces, nooks and crannies for you to relax, and access to nature aplenty are some of the things that define your experience of The Bunker. When people ask us why we decided to name it The Bunker, we like to tell them how a bunker means a place which is safe, which is a shelter when life is not treating you very well. At the same time, it is also a home for the nomads. We strive to provide you that level of safety, of comfort that will stay with you, for a very long time.

Our hostels have captured in their cozy corners, the screenplay of every traveler’s story. A story brimmed with unnatural events in a natural backdrop, where laughter echoes louder than the sound of traffic, where art and music flows like an incessant river, where walls have no clock as people lose the track of time, caught up in riveting tales, caught up in living each and every moment, caught up in sharing the real happiness. It’s been an amazing journey for us, and hopefully, we can make it amazing for you too.
